Cassandra travels to Philadelphia in search of her brother, but instead finds a phylactery she must destroy. Cosmic horror descends upon her as her mission is impeded by a crawling force dragging her into madness. As she begins to understand what is happening, she becomes a victim of the same celestial force that made her brother vanish. Trapped with nowhere to go, she is nevertheless on the path to solving the mystery.
